Terms of Service
These terms govern your use of Storage Game, a macOS game, and the website storage-game.com, both provided by Object. Installing and running the app means you accept them.
01What the service is
Storage Game is a single macOS game in which you drop storage devices and merge the matching ones, across eleven tiers from an 8-inch floppy to an NVMe SSD.
The game plays without an internet connection. Only the global leaderboard and real-time matches require one.
02Price, refunds, and sponsorship
On the Mac App Store the app sells for US$3.99. A promotion may put it lower for a time; what you pay is the price shown on the App Store at the moment of purchase. Apple handles the sale and the payment; Object never receives your payment details.
From storage-game.com the same app is distributed free as a notarized build. The two are functionally identical.
However you obtained it, the app carries no ads and no in-app purchases.
If you bought it on the Mac App Store, cancellation and refunds follow Apple's policies and procedures; request one at reportaproblem.apple.com. The build downloaded from this site is supplied at no charge, so there is nothing to cancel or refund.
Sponsorship offered on the website is separate from the sale and entirely voluntary; every feature works the same whether or not you sponsor. Sponsorship runs through GitHub Sponsors, and payment and cancellation follow GitHub's policies.
Sponsorship money goes to running the leaderboard and match servers.
03Use without an account
The service has no accounts. A callsign submitted to the leaderboard is tied only to an install identifier stored on your device, so deleting the app leaves you unable to manage that entry yourself.
If you need an entry deleted, email contact@object.so with the callsign and score.
04Your obligations
You will not manufacture scores through memory editing, packet tampering, or automation tools; reverse-engineer or redistribute a modified build of the app; or place abnormal load on our servers.
05Leaderboard adjustments
Where an entry could not have been produced by normal play, Object may delete it without notice.
An install identifier that repeatedly breaches section 04 may lose access to leaderboard submission and real-time matches.
06Real-time matches
Real-time play offers random matchmaking and friend matches via a five-letter code.
Match quality depends on your own network. Object does not guarantee any particular latency or uninterrupted connectivity.
Results of a match that ended through an opponent's disconnection may not count toward the leaderboard.
07Intellectual property
Rights in the app, the website, the source code, the name “Storage Game”, the icon, and the interface belong to Object.
You are free to stream, record, and share screenshots of gameplay. You may not redistribute the app or its icon without Object's written consent, or present them as your own product.
08If you got the app from the Mac App Store
Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies, and where the two documents conflict, Apple's terms prevail.
Apple is not a party to these terms and has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the app.
09Changes to the service
Object may add to or change the app's features.
If the leaderboard or match servers are shut down, we will announce the date at least 30 days in advance on this website and inside the app. Single-player features of an installed app keep working without the servers.
10No warranty
The app is provided “as is”. Object does not warrant that it will run without error or suit a particular purpose.
You remain responsible for your own device and data.
11Limitation of liability
Absent willful misconduct or gross negligence, Object is not liable for indirect or incidental damages arising from use of the app.
To the extent the law allows, Object's monetary liability will not exceed what you actually paid for this app in the preceding twelve months. Where the app was obtained free from this site, that amount is nil.
12Governing law and venue
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea, with the Busan District Court as the court of first instance.
If you are a consumer, the consumer protections of your place of residence apply regardless of this section.
13Changes and contact
If these terms change, the new version and its effective date are posted on this page. Changes unfavourable to users are announced 30 days before they take effect.
